چکیده

The 1.0 metre f/4 fast-slew Zadko Telescope was installed in June 2008 approximately seventy kilometres north of Perth at Yeal, the Shire Gingin, Western Australia. Since has been operation it proven its worth by detecting numerous Gamma Ray Burst afterglows, two these being most distant `optical transients' imaged an Australian telescope. Other projects include a contract with European Space Agency (ESA) to image potentially hazardous near Earth asteroids (2019), monitoring space weather on nearby stars and photometry transit Saturn's moon Titan (2018). Another active project is tracking Geo-stationary satellites attempting use classify various debris (defunct satellites). Telescope's importance as potential tool for education, training, public outreach cannot be underestimated, global awareness astronomy (and science) context teaching science continues increase. An example this national media coverage contribution discovery colliding neutron 2017, capturing imagination public. In proceeding, I will focus practical aspects managing robotic Observatory, focusing sustainability Observatory technical management involved hosting different commercial projects. review evolution from early, single instrument, state current multi-telescope multi-instrument capabilities. finish outlining future site.

The Virtual Observatory Registry

In the Virtual Observatory (VO), the Registry provides the mechanism with which users and applications discover and select resources – typically, data and services – that are relevant for a particular scientific problem. Even though the VO adopted technologies in particular from the bibliographic community where available, building the Registry system involved a major standardisation effort, in...

The National Virtual Observatory

As a scientific discipline, Astronomy is rather unique. We only have one laboratory, the Universe, and we cannot, of course, change the initial conditions and study the resulting effects. On top of this, acquiring Astronomical data has historically been a very labor-intensive effort. As a result, data has traditionally been preserved for posterity. With recent technological advances, however, t...

The Long-Term Ecosystem Observatory: An Integrated Coastal Observatory

An integrated ocean observatory has been developed and operated in the coastal waters off the central coast of New Jersey, USA. One major goal for the Long-term Ecosystem Observatory (LEO) is to develop a real-time capability for rapid environmental assessment and physical/biological forecasting in coastal waters. To this end, observational data are collected from satellites, aircrafts, ships, ...

The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory

The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory is a second-generation water Cherenkov detector designed to determine whether the currently observed solar neutrino de"cit is a result of neutrino oscillations. The detector is unique in its use of D 2 O as a detection medium, permitting it to make a solar model-independent test of the neutrino oscillation hypothesis by comparison of the chargedand neutral-curre...

The Small Project Observatory

Maintenance is an important activity in software engineering with studies attributing it more than 75% of the total cost of a system. More than half the time dedicated to maintenance is spent on reverse engineering the code which often is the only accurate source of information. In this context, among the many approaches, software visualization tools have long been seen as an important asset to...
